If you need help with a federal matter, a passport, immigration paperwork, Social Security, veterans' benefits or a problem with a federal agency, your representative's district office is the place to start. That service is free and it is available to everyone in the district, whoever they voted for.
Finding the right office
First find your district by entering your address at voterlookup.elections.ny.gov.
Then look up your representative in the House directory at house.gov, which lists a Washington office and one or more district offices for every member. For a case that needs local help, the district office is usually the faster one.
What to have ready
Your full address, so the office can confirm you are a constituent. A short written summary of the problem and what you have already tried. Any reference or case numbers. Offices handle a high volume of requests, and the clearer the first message is, the quicker it moves.
Contacting the Joseph Chou campaign
If you live in New York's 6th Congressional District and you want to reach the campaign directly, with a question, an offer to help or a problem you think is not being heard, you can get in touch through the contact page.
