New York's 6th Congressional District

New York's 6th Congressional District sits in the middle of Queens. It runs from Woodside and Maspeth in the west across to Bayside and Oakland Gardens in the east, and it covers a wide mix of residential neighborhoods and small business districts.

The neighborhoods of the 6th District

The district includes Flushing, Forest Hills, Rego Park, Elmhurst, Fresh Meadows, Jackson Heights, Kew Gardens Hills, Bayside, Auburndale, Oakland Gardens, Maspeth, Middle Village and Woodside.

It also takes in Briarwood, East Flushing, Electchester, Hillcrest, Hollis Hills, Jamaica Hills, Pomonok, Queensboro Hill, Utopia and Willets Point.

The district is made up of many different communities rather than one. People here run small businesses, raise families and look after older relatives, and affordability is a shared concern across all of them.

Not sure if you are in the district?

District lines do not follow neighborhood lines exactly. A few blocks that feel like one neighborhood sit inside another district, so the reliable way to check is by your own address rather than by the name of your area.

You can look up your congressional district by address at the New York State Board of Elections.
